VP Video and Premium Content

We are currently looking for a VP of Video and Premium Content. The VP will be responsible for developing and executing a business plan to scale Ranker’s Premium strategy, including developing and maintaining an editorial voice for four new verticals. The verticals will primarily be driven by video but supplemented with editorial and social.  The core goal is to develop brand friendly and salable franchises that will be monetized through sponsorships and integrations, in addition to overseeing branded content.

Responsibilities:

  • Mapping out a content strategy that supports and extends advertising initiatives, both short- and long-term, determining which methods work for Ranker and why. Continuous evolvement of strategy is a must.
  • Ensuring all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice, and optimized for user experience for all channels of content including our site, Facebook and Instagram.
  • Overseeing department staff and P&L, including production costs
  • Manage timelines and execution to make sure video is efficient and the department is working towards a strong ROI.  
  • Securing and managing celebrities, athletes, musicians, influencers, etc. to create custom polls, lists and more.
  • The development of a functional content calendar throughout the enterprise verticals.
  • Supervising an internal team of content creators, video production and channel managers, plus outsourced contractors and vendors.
  • Partner with other key internal groups to build, optimize and grow communities around our content.
  • Partner with sales team on development and execution of brand campaigns.
  • Partner with analytics team and use tools to optimize and report back to management.
  • Conducting periodic competitive audits.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years experiences in traditional and digital publishing and video production, 3+ years in management
  • Deep and demonstrable knowledge of video production, digital channels and digital media required
  • High Pop Culture IQ & live and breathe all things digital
  • Proficient in project management, workflow tools and cutting edge digital resources and platforms
