Image Freelancer - Facebook

Los Angeles, California, United States Contract Allows remote - a Quantcast top 50 US site - is looking for a remote freelance image editor who can regularly and reliably create mobile-optimized engaging images for our Facebook pages. This is the perfect short- to medium-term project for web-savvy individuals looking to make some extra cash in their spare time and establish a working relationship with a major entertainment site.

Topics may include history, crime, creepy/horror, film, anime, animals/nature, travel, nerd/comics/video games, interesting facts, and more. Here are some examples of the kinds of images you’d be making for us:

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Excellent photo editing skills.
  • Access to Photoshop or a similar editor.
  • Familiarity with Facebook and what makes a compelling image post.
  • Interest in and knowledge of a variety of topics, such as those listed above.
  • Working knowledge of how to find quality, interesting images on the Internet.
  • Enough free time to reliably create images daily (we need to be able to trust you to do the work, as you’ll be working remotely).
  • Good time management skills and the ability to work quickly and consistently without sacrificing quality.
  • Working knowledge of Reddit a plus.

How will this all work? We’ll provide you with the fonts, templates, and formatting information you need for each assigned page. You will be both finding images (and interesting facts to go along with them) as well as creating images for which we supply the assets. You’ll submit images in batches of 10 images and can submit as many batches as you want/have the time for, but must submit at least 1 batch per day. You’ll be paid a fixed rate for each batch of images. If you miss a day of images without a head’s up, you will likely miss out on future work.

To apply, please submit a cover letter giving color/examples of how you meet and exceed the qualifications listed above.

Please also create and submit with your cover letter one image you would make for our Weirdly Interesting page, keeping in mind the example images provided above. Here’s a link to the page:

DO NOT submit previous work samples. Please look at the page and the kinds of photos we post and make something similar. You will need to find an interesting fact and compelling image to go with it, then edit them together.

If we like your cover letter and first image, we’ll have you create five more images as a paid test. You’ll be paid whether we use your five images or not. If all goes well, we’ll set you up with regular work for the duration of the project. If we love working with you, there is room to grow within our content and social media teams.
